Ride brief
Your terrain, ambitions, history and preferences become the decision filter.
White-glove custom bicycle builds
Fit, frame, components, assembly and final delivery — considered as one complete system for the way you actually ride.
The white-glove process
A personal, deliberate process for riders who care about the outcome but do not want a second job researching standards, compatibility and tradeoffs.
Your terrain, ambitions, history and preferences become the decision filter.
We establish the fit envelope, then shortlist frames that work within it.
Frame, drivetrain, wheels and contact points are balanced as a whole.
Meticulous assembly, setup, test ride and a personal handover.
Why Apex Velo?
“Why wouldn’t I just walk into a bike shop or brand showroom?”Sometimes, you should. Apex exists for the more complicated decision: when fit, intended use and component choices matter more than taking home what is already on the floor.
You already know the model and size you want, the available build suits you, and speed or convenience matters most.
You want the bike chosen around you — and one experienced partner to carry every decision from the first conversation through the first ride.
The brief begins with your body, terrain and ambitions — not a model that needs to leave the floor.
Fit, geometry, gearing, wheels and contact points are resolved as an integrated system.
You get a clear shortlist and a reason for every choice, without doing months of research yourself.
The handover is the start of refinement, with the position and setup revisited after real riding.

Fit is the foundation
The best frame is the one that supports your position, handling goals and real-world terrain. Fit decisions come first, before a frame is ordered.
About the founder
Tae founded Apex Velo Works to give busy riders the white-glove experience he always wanted: pro-level bike fitting, thoughtful frame and component selection, and a meticulous hand-built result — without the homework.
By day, he is VP of Business Development at Automation Anywhere, following 22 years at Google where he led Chrome Enterprise partnerships and landmark OEM and silicon deals. That career trained him to turn complex choices into clear decisions and see how every part of a system works together.
He is also a lifelong cyclist who races gravel and mountain bike in the Men 41–50 field with Alto Velo, trains by power, and has spent years obsessing over the small choices that make a great build feel inevitable.
